What Wolt is
Wolt is a food and retail delivery app founded in Helsinki in 2014 and owned by DoorDash since 2022. It delivers restaurant meals, groceries, pharmacy items and other shop orders in cities across the Nordics, the Baltics, Central and Eastern Europe and a few countries beyond. For travelers it is often the most complete delivery app in those regions, with an English interface and payment handled in the app.

Good to know

- It is not in every European country: there is no Wolt in the UK, France, Spain or Italy
Travel tips
- Drop the map pin on your exact entrance and put the door code or hotel room in the delivery note, since couriers follow the pin
- If you are close by, choose pickup to skip the delivery fee
- Tipping the courier is optional and can be done in the app after delivery
- In Greece and Denmark a local rival is about as big, so compare if the selection looks thin

Which countries does Wolt work in?
Wolt operates in more than 20 countries, mostly in Europe, including Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Czechia, Hungary, Slovenia, Greece, Cyprus and Israel. It is not available in the UK, France, Spain or Italy.
Is Wolt the same as DoorDash?
DoorDash has owned Wolt since 2022, but they remain separate apps. In the countries Wolt serves, you order through the Wolt app with a Wolt account.
Can I pay cash on Wolt?
Usually not. Wolt is built around in-app payment by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay; cash on delivery is offered in only a few countries.
